After teaching for nearly 40 years Lyn Smith has retrained as a genealogist and now  holds a Diploma in Family History from the University of Tasmania and a Certificate of Family History Research from SAG (The Society of Australian Genealogists). These formal qualifications complement decades of practical research experience across a wide range of record types and repositories. Ongoing professional development ensures research practices remain current, particularly as new collections and digitised records become available.
